We’re the crew that shows up when your chimney starts misbehaving. Based right here in Annapolis, we cover the city and the surrounding Anne Arundel County communities: Parole, Arnold, Edgewater, Severna Park, Crofton, and Cape St. Claire. This team has cleaned and inspected thousands of chimneys across the Chesapeake watershed, where salt air and humid summers do things to masonry that drier climates never see. What unites us is simple: we write down a price before we start, we take photos of everything we find, and we don’t recommend work you can’t see with your own eyes. Corrine Halstead owns and operates this location, and she hires people who can explain a cracked flue tile in plain English without talking down to anyone.

Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been sweeping and inspecting chimneys in the Annapolis area for 12 years. He holds a CSIA certification and has personally documented more than 6,000 flue interiors with our camera system. His specialty is catching the stuff that hides: hairline cracks in clay tile liners, early-stage spalling on brick crowns, and the kind of creosote buildup that looks fine until it isn’t. When Marcus tells you something needs attention, he’ll show you the footage on the spot, not ask you to take his word for it. He grew up in Parole and still refuses to use GPS to get around downtown Annapolis. He’ll beat it to your house every time, but please allow a few extra minutes in August when tourists are in town.
Danielle V., Senior Installer
Danielle runs our liner and rebuild jobs. She’s been with the company for 9 years and handles installations of DuraFlex and HeatShield systems, plus full crown rebuilds and cricket work on the steeper rooflines you see around the historic district. That matters in Annapolis, where a house built in 1890 and a house built in 2015 need very different approaches to the same problem. Danielle is certified in HeatShield’s cerfractory application process and has re-lined over 400 chimneys in Anne Arundel County. She’s also our designated driver for any job requiring a boom lift, which she says is the closest she’ll ever get to amusement park rides. She’s not wrong.
Sam P., Service Coordinator
Sam is the voice you’ll likely hear first. He’s been answering the phone at (443) 274-4231 for 4 years, and unlike most service coordinators, he’s also been on a roof. That’s deliberate on our part. Every coordinator at Level Two Chimney Annapolis spends their first two weeks shadowing a technician, which means Sam can explain what a Level 2 inspection involves because he’s watched one happen. He schedules every job, sends the text update when your tech is on the way, and makes sure your written estimate and photo report are in your hands before the technician leaves the driveway. He knows the difference between a chase cover and a cap, and he’ll never read you a script. He’s from Edgewater and talks fast enough to prove it.
Ben H., Apprentice Technician
Ben joined us in 2024 after two years in residential construction. He’s working toward his CSIA certification now and handles the prep work: tarping, staging, cleanup, and running the camera under supervision. Every apprentice at our shop spends a full year on documentation before setting up a ladder alone, which means Ben takes a lot of photos and learns what healthy flue liners look like from the inside out. He’s currently studying for the fire code portion of his certification what we call the NFPA 211 test, because that’s exactly what it is. Ben’s the one who will vacuum the firebox until it looks new and then ask if you want him to move the sofa back six inches. The answer is usually yes.
One Standard, Every Job
Every chimney we touch in Annapolis gets the same treatment, no matter who on this team shows up. Clause 1 of the Haven Standard is the rule that matters most to us: a written price, a written scope, and a written warranty before anyone starts. Not a ballpark. Not a verbal “probably.” It’s on paper, and it’s specific. Clause 4 requires a documented photo record on every single job, and we’ve done it that way since 2009. That’s 38,000-plus chimneys photographed, logged, and archived. If Marcus sweeps a flue on Monday and Danielle inspects it next year, she can pull the full record and compare. When we recommend a liner replacement or a crown rebuild, it’s because we have images that show why, and Corrine’s rule is simple: if you can’t see the problem in the photo, we haven’t made the case.
